Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Framed Hearts combines printed heart centers with alternating light and dark frames. The blocks begin with rectangles from a six-inch fabric roll; sewn corner squares shape the two halves before framing strips complete each block. Sixty light-frame and sixty dark-frame blocks form twelve rows of ten, creating an 80 by 96-inch quilt. The advanced-beginner construction uses the Cool collection alongside Peacock and Glacier shot cottons, with the frame colors alternating throughout the layout.

Framed Hearts - Cool Free Quilt Pattern by Lucy A. Fazely quilt pattern summary

  1. Subcut the six-inch roll strips into matching rectangles and prepare the shot-cotton squares and frame strips. Mark the diagonal sewing lines on the corner squares.
  2. Stitch the marked squares to the rectangle corners, trim and press, and make both mirrored units. Join matching halves to form the centers.
  3. Add the narrow and wider framing strips in the indicated positions. Repeat the fabric combinations to make sixty light-frame and sixty dark-frame blocks.
  4. Arrange twelve rows of ten blocks, alternating the frame colors, and join the rows with nesting seams. Layer, quilt and finish with the prepared binding.
