From Sun to Stars Free Pattern by Natalie Crabtree - Free Quilt Pattern
From Sun to Stars is an intermediate design by Natalie Crabtree featuring Sunshine by Sally Kelly. The 32-inch square project can become a wall hanging, large floor pillow or table topper. Four colorways share the same cutting and construction directions. A central star alternates pieced diamond units with large fabric diamonds, surrounded by an inner border and a carefully matched floral-stripe border. The pattern includes templates and separate envelope-back finishing instructions for the pillow option.

From Sun to Stars Free Pattern by Natalie Crabtree quilt pattern summary
- Choose a colorway from the SKU guide and cut its diamond templates, background triangles and border pieces. Follow the stripe-cutting diagrams for the outer border.
- Piece four large diamond units from the small diamonds. Combine them with the large fabric diamonds and background triangles in four quadrants, then join the quadrants into the star block.
- Join the striped triangles into four border units, matching the floral design. Trim them against the border strips so the design lines up around the corners.
- Add the inner borders to the star, then attach the striped outer borders and their corner units. Keep the floral design toward the inner border.
- Layer and quilt the project. Bind it as a wall hanging or table topper, or prepare and attach the overlapping envelope-back sections before binding the floor pillow.
