From the Duck Blind Free Quilt Pattern by Hilary Bobker
From the Duck Blind frames a central print square with flying geese and pieced corner squares in a quilt measuring 74 inches square. Hilary Bobker's design features the Outdoor Life collection by Whistler Studios. Sixteen flying-geese blocks form four units around the center, with careful attention to the direction of the printed fabrics. Five borders surround the patchwork, and the instructions explain how to handle the different fabric grains when attaching them.

- Cut the directional border pieces first, then prepare the center square, corner squares, and flying-geese pieces. Keep the lengthwise and crosswise border strips identified.
- Sew marked squares onto both ends of each rectangle to form flying geese. Make sixteen blocks and join them into four units of four.
- Piece and trim the four corner squares. Join them with the flying-geese units and central square in the illustrated direction to form the quilt center.
- Measure the center and attach borders one through five, adding side strips before top and bottom strips. Press, layer, quilt, and attach the binding.
