Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Fruit Mandala frames a large fabric square whose printed design supplies the central checkerboard of blooms. Fussy-cut floral strips form a pieced border, with on-point squares placed at its corners and narrow borders separating the sections. The advanced-beginner quilt finishes at 53 inches square and features Fruitopia by Helen Godden with Chromatics fabrics. Its construction concentrates on centering the printed motifs and joining the borders around the unpieced center square.

  1. Fussy cut the large center square, on-point corner squares and floral strips. Cut the remaining inner, outer and binding strips by their listed fabric letters.
  2. Sew the floral strips around narrow center strips to make four pieced borders. Add the inner side borders to the center square, followed by the top and bottom borders.
  3. Attach the pieced borders, adding the corner squares to the top and bottom sections. Orient the dark corners outward and complete the narrow outer border.
  4. Prepare the binding and backing, then layer and quilt the top. Trim the layers and finish the binding by hand or machine.
