Garden Window Free Quilt Pattern by Wendy Sheppard
Garden Window is an intermediate quilt by Wendy Sheppard featuring the Aviva collection by Whistler Studios. It finishes at 70.5 inches square. Two block constructions alternate across five rows: one frames a fabric square, while the other combines a pieced center with half-square-triangle units. Sashing strips and small squares separate the blocks and rows. Four successive borders surround the center, and the pattern gives fabric combinations and quantities for both block styles.

- Cut and label the fabric pieces. Frame the larger squares with narrow strips, then add the pieced side and top/bottom units to complete the first block style.
- Piece the second block centers using squares and corner-pieced rectangles. Make the half-square triangles and join the side and top/bottom units around each center.
- Make four horizontal sashing rows. Arrange the two block styles with vertical sashing in five block rows, then alternate the block and sashing rows.
- Attach the four borders in sequence. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing, baste, quilt and bind using the N strips.
