Gift Wrap Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day

Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Gift Wrap sets fussy-cut picture blocks on point, with striped sashing and floral cornerstones connecting the diagonal rows. Stacey Day designed the intermediate quilt with Silent Night fabrics by Cori Dantini. Triangle units frame the picture centers, while separate setting blocks keep the edge motifs right-reading around the square layout. Twelve full blocks and twelve setting blocks form the arrangement, and the finished quilt measures seventy-eight and a half inches square.

Gift Wrap Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day quilt pattern summary

  1. Fussy cut the picture rectangles, sashing strips and floral cornerstone pieces. Prepare the remaining squares and triangles, handling their bias edges gently.
  2. Frame the picture rectangles with triangles and piece the surrounding units. Assemble twelve full blocks and the twelve directionally labeled setting blocks.
  3. Make the striped sashing units and cornerstone rows. Arrange the blocks in diagonal rows with their motifs upright, then join the rows and add the final corner triangles.
  4. Prepare the binding, layer and quilt, and trim the extra backing and batting. Bind the edges with mitered corners and hand stitch the binding to the back.
