Indigo Wheels Free Quilt Pattern by Chloe Anderson & Colleen Reale
Indigo Wheels combines pinwheel blocks, sashing, and a four-patch border in a 68 x 80 inch quilt. Designed by Chloe Anderson and Colleen Reale, the intermediate project features Swatch Book by Iowa Quilt Museum. Twelve pinwheel blocks form the center, with small corner triangles added to each block. Four-patch units create a separate border outside the inner border, and a final outer border with corner squares completes the layout. The fabric list includes both yardage and fat quarters.

Indigo Wheels Free Quilt Pattern by Chloe Anderson & Colleen Reale quilt pattern summary
- Cut the fabric pieces and pair light and dark squares to make half-square triangles. Join four units into each pinwheel, then add the small corner triangles to complete twelve blocks.
- Sew assorted squares into forty four-patch units. Piece the sashing rows and four pinwheel rows, then join them with seams pressed toward the sashing.
- Add the inner border, then join the four-patch units into four border strips and attach them. Sew on the outer side borders and the top and bottom borders with their corner squares.
- Layer with batting and backing, baste, and quilt as desired. Bind with the designated Navy fabric strips.
