Kinetic Cool Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day
Kinetic Cool combines small triangle units, large half-square triangles and rectangular edge blocks in a carefully ordered layout. The smaller units build contrasting block sections, while the larger pieces give the Kaffe Fassett Collective prints more space. Five rows of six blocks complete a 90-inch-square quilt. This intermediate design by Stacey Day includes detailed fabric-pairing tables and guidance for handling bias edges, trimming units and preserving the intended orientation as the rows are assembled.

Kinetic Cool Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day quilt pattern summary
- Cut and organize the squares and rectangles by fabric letter, using the suggested starch preparation to help stabilize the bias edges.
- Join the small triangles into A units, then combine those units with additional triangles to form the B and C units in the fabric-pairing tables.
- Assemble the D and E blocks from those units, make the large F triangle blocks, and sew the corner squares onto rectangles for the G blocks. Trim as directed.
- Arrange five rows of six blocks, checking every block orientation before sewing. Join the rows, then layer, quilt and bind the finished top.
