Loves Me Loves Me Not Free Quilt Pattern by Jean Ann Wright & Genevieve Gail
Loves Me Loves Me Not features a large flower applique surrounded by checkerboard patchwork and several borders. Jean Ann Wright and Genevieve Gail's beginner-level design uses the Flower Bucket collection and finishes at 54 by 60 inches. Pieced rectangles form the outer patchwork border, while individually sewn half-circle scallops finish the perimeter. The backing is turned under at the edge after quilting, preserving the scallops around the completed quilt.

- Enlarge the flower template and prepare the applique pieces. Fuse and stitch the flower to its background rectangle, then add the narrow frame.
- Piece the checkerboard strips and attach them around the applique. Add the successive borders and sew the outer rectangle strips in the illustrated arrangement.
- Sew and turn the individual scallops, baste them around the perimeter and press them outward. Layer and quilt while keeping the scallops free, then trim and turn the backing under to finish the edge.
