Merry Mushrooms centers an applique arrangement inside a pieced border of twenty blocks. Erin Witt’s intermediate design finishes at 40 inches square and uses mushroom prints, dots and coordinating fabrics from the Merry Mushroom collection. Orange strips frame both the applique center and the outside of the pieced border. The pattern allows the applique method of your choice and supplies a motif layout to enlarge before preparing the center.

Merry Mushrooms Free Quilt Pattern by Erin Witt quilt pattern summary
- Enlarge the motif layout as directed, cut the applique pieces and arrange them on the brown-dot background. Attach them using the applique technique of your choice, then press and trim the center.
- Add the orange inner border. Sew triangles around the center squares to make the four corner blocks and sixteen assorted pieced border blocks.
- Join the pieced blocks into border rows, add the corner blocks to the top and bottom rows, and attach the rows. Add the orange outer border, then quilt and bind.
