I NEVER thought I would want to get into English Paper Piecing, however, the more I see, the more I was convinced that there is a perfect place in my crafting life for this. Very good incentive to start me doing EPP - Booklet very clear. Only surprise I had was that no fabric was included - not sure that was made clear - or maybe I missed. Ended up with some purchased at my neighborhood fabric shop.

I love this kit so much! Not just for beginners and it’s so darn cute I didn’t even get it on sale. Worth every penny. I use it at home and while traveling. It has everything you need and more. I travel quite a bit and I can use it on the plane with a board I made in pic to go with. An idea I got off YouTube. I’m currently using it in my hotel room.

I am really enjoying the hand piecing. I work at a local fertilizer company and have free time in the summer and winter before harvest and after the fertilizing is done and got this kit to have something for my hands to do while I wasn't busy. I'm not making the pattern included but am working on a grandmother's flower garden quilt pattern. I have been making English Paper Piecing projects on a design-as-I-go basis for a number of years. I even have three bed-sized tops that need just borders and quilting. My sewing room is full of templates and tools for EPP, BUT when I saw this kit, I just had to buy it. Love Missouri Star's signature colors of the zipper bag. I was surprised at the size of the kit but let’s be real. Us paper-piecers will have no regrets carrying more supplies with us. The interior pouches make it very easy to separate or downsize when desired. The tools are good quality. I also know that this case will work wonderfully as a cross-stitch/embroidery travel case.

I do love that it is a starter kit. I found starter kits to be hard to find. I love the bag and how organized everything is. I love the first project. I don't love the needle and thread. My stitches were very visible, and it frustrated me. Upon researching I found out you need very thin "straw" needles and 80 wt thread. This kit had the exact opposite for those two items. I did find I love the glue and have used it on other projects now. If used correctly it does go a long way.

I like this kit because it’s small enough to sit on my lap and work directly on it while watching TV, but large enough to hold the project. Lots of neat interior cases and pockets, a great little round spinning mat, plus other various matching accessories.

Did I need this beginner kit? No I did not. But I bought it as a gift to myself. And I don’t regret it. Everything about the kit is pure quality and it’s going to be very handy and a pretty way to keep my EPP supplies in one place.
