Octagons

Perfect. It’s the only Octagon I could find that was 5”. All others were 5 1/2”. My project involved some vintage octagons that were 5”. So you can understand the need I had. I love your videos and have learned so much on quilting. Thank you!

Perfect tool for making a unique quilt

I bought all three of the octagons in the set to make a quilt for my daughter's wedding and for future quilts. I was inspired by Jenny, Natalie, and Misty's Triple Play.

Using Misty's Octagon Bloom inspiration, I incorporated Jenny's passion for turning under the edges, which led me to follow some of Natalie's Quilt - As - You - Go techniques.

The result astonished me. I'd never made a quilt before, and the pressure was high as this was a wedding gift.

Here are the results. For all the new quilters like me who are out there, trust these ladies and their inspirations. You can do this. Watch their videos and let them hold your hand through the process. I did, and I'm delighted with the outcome.

I know I was inspired by a project in BLOCK magazine-just can't remember what-but I know it will be used. Love the Missouri Star Templates and patterns!

Willa's Candy Crush and Princesses Quilt! I loved your small octagon template for her name appliques!

These templates will come in handy for sure! I'm sure enjoying ALL of my MO Star templates & rulers! :-)

I love to applique on my quilts and this small octagon template (turned on the "pointed" edge as shown above instead of the "flat top" edge!) was the "letter background" for the NAME of an adorable new baby, for whom I just made a reversible quilt - she's the third daughter in the family and her two older sisters also got fun reversible quilts from me when they were born! :-)

This quilt is 50" square and was lots of fun to make! The sub-cut pre-printed panel on the front has vintage "penny candy" in rows - Willa's Grandmother Pam LOVES that stuff - they have a candy-shop near their home, and our longtime friend Pam and I always go there when we visit them - it's very hard to decide what to buy & taste! :-)

Willa's BACKING has "3 of my 4 remaining princess mini blocks" in the center--oldest sister Peyton got eight of the original princess mini blocks from the panel in HER quilt in 2016!); Marley got her quilt in 2018, and Willa now has hers! :-) Yep, I ALWAYS save EVERY usable piece of any remaining fabric - ha ha! :-) Ruth Henderson

Very versatile

I bought this to make ornaments, but after watching the MSQC video, I see lots of other possibilities. You can make two different sized finished blocks/ornaments with different looks because of the different folding options.
