Unlike the wool mats that allow heat and steam to penetrate the wool, there is minimal heat transfer through the board due to its' unique core construction. The foam side holds fabric so it will not move, stretch or distort. Both sides have perfect cushioning to create a professional finish to your project eliminating seam impressions and creating a clean finish.

Works very well. I have a small heavy plastic top table next to sewing machine and this keeps the heat from iron going through to the table.

Very good

I am so glad I finally purchased this ironing board! I don’t have a lot of space in my sewing room and it is so convenient to press on this board rather than setting up the ironing board. Plus it is wider than my ironing board. Purchased on sale which was the deciding factor.

Just the right thing

This wool pad stays put, is firm and gives a clean crease when pressing blocks. I like that it is not as thick as my other wool pads and that it does not transfer heat through the pad.
