Posy & Paisley Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day

Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Posy & Paisley uses four large paisley-floral rectangles cut from two Festival panels, with narrow panel-print sashing between them. Stacey Day designed this advanced-beginner quilt with Joyful fabrics by Sarah Campbell. Fussy-cut floral strips make the first border, followed by a solid teal frame and a wider Posy-print outer border. The finished quilt measures 60 by 59 inches. Its construction preserves the large panel motifs while repeating their smaller floral details around the central arrangement.

Posy & Paisley Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day quilt pattern summary

  1. Fussy cut four paisley-floral rectangles and the narrow sashing pieces from the panels. Cut the floral inner-border strips, remaining borders and binding.
  2. Sew the panel rectangles in two rows with vertical sashing between each pair. Join the rows with the long horizontal sashing strip.
  3. Add the fussy-cut inner borders, then the teal middle borders and wider Posy outer borders. Match the print at joined border strips where desired.
  4. Join the binding strips, layer and quilt, and trim the extra layers. Attach the binding with mitered corners and finish it by hand on the back.
