Description:

Quiltasaurus Rex is a beginner quilt designed by Wendy Sheppard with Prehistoric Paradise by Whistler Studios. The 46-by-60-inch design has a center made from three rows of fabric rectangles, separated by narrow sashing. The middle row uses taller rectangles than the rows above and below it. Five inner borders and a wider outer border surround that center. A labeled cutting chart and quilt assembly diagram guide the arrangement of the fabrics and successive borders.

  1. Cut and label the patch rectangles, sashing and border strips according to the fabric chart. Keep the two rectangle heights separate for the different rows.
  2. Sew the first and third rows from the shorter rectangles and sashing. Make the middle row from the taller rectangles, then join all three rows with horizontal sashing.
  3. Attach the five inner borders in the specified sequence, followed by the outer border, adding side strips before top and bottom strips.
  4. Layer the top with batting and backing, then baste and quilt as desired. Bind with the G strips.
