Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Rainbow Forest is an intermediate quilt designed by Stacey Day with the Rainbow Vale collection. A fussy-cut panel forms the center of the 55 by 61 inch quilt. Narrow inner framing leads into a pieced border with long strip sets, four corner blocks and two mirrored Cloud blocks along the bottom. A final plain border completes the design. The pattern includes separate cutting groups for the strip, corner and cloud components and a labeled quilt-assembly diagram.

Rainbow Forest Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day quilt pattern summary

  1. Center the panel design and fussy cut it to 35.5 by 41.5 inches. Cut and label the inner borders, strip sets, corner-block and cloud-block pieces.
  2. Build four corner blocks by adding the listed rectangles around the initial square unit. Make the cloud units with diagonal corner seams, then join their rows into a Cloud block and its mirror image.
  3. Frame the panel with the first inner border. Piece and add the strip-set side borders, then assemble the top border with corner blocks and the bottom border with the Cloud blocks and corner blocks.
  4. Add the outer B borders to the sides, then the top and bottom. Layer, baste and quilt as desired, and bind with H strips.
