If it's a unique table runner you're after, the Rick Rack Table Runner pattern will give you exactly that! From Cut Loose Press, this pattern will show you how to create a zigzag pattern resembling rick rack by combining traditional log cabin blocks, mini pinwheels and quarter-square-triangle blocks. At 18" x 54", it is large enough to fit any table or kitchen island! The blocks are cut from 10” squares, 21 assorted blue and 18 assorted white fabrics. You will need the Creative Grids 10-inch Log Cabin Trim Tool Duo for this runner.

review - rick rack table runner pattern

The end result is nice, but an expensive ruler is required to get there. I doubt if I will ever make a MSQ log cabin pattern again.
