Safari Adventures Free Quilt Pattern by Leslie Sonkin
Safari Adventures places an appliqued elephant between rows of monkeys and giraffes in a 30 by 52 inch quilt. Leslie Sonkin’s design uses Jackie Shapiro’s Sweet Pea fabrics, with striped backgrounds behind the smaller animals. Orange and yellow borders frame the elephant center before the animal rows are joined above and below. A wider printed border and matching binding surround the arrangement, while machine zigzag stitching secures the fused animal shapes.
