Sound Waves Free Quilt Pattern by Jean Ann Wright
Sound Waves gives nine-patch blocks curved seams and alternating tilted positions on turquoise backgrounds. Jean Ann Wright’s design uses the All That Jazz collection and finishes at 60 inches square. A stacked cutting method mixes nine prints through the blocks, which are trimmed with a pinking blade and topstitched to background squares. Turquoise and green frames separate the blocks, while the collection’s multicolored print forms the outer border and turquoise binding finishes the edge.

Sound Waves Free Quilt Pattern by Jean Ann Wright quilt pattern summary
- Stack the nine print squares and cut the matching curved pieces through all layers. Reorder the pieces so each block receives a different fabric from each stack, then sew the curves into nine-patch blocks.
- Trim the blocks with a pinking blade. Tilt them in the two specified directions, topstitch them onto turquoise backgrounds with black thread, and add the designated framing strips.
- Join the framed blocks in three rows of three, alternating their placement. Add the segmented inner frame and multicolored outer borders, then layer, quilt with black thread and bind.
