Sunrays Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree
Sunrays uses raw-edge fusible applique to arrange triangles, trapezoids, and a circle on a Bluebird background. Designed by Natalie Crabtree with Villa Sol by Jennifer Moore of Monaluna, the intermediate quilt finishes at 55 x 77 inches. The shapes are spaced across a single pieced background rectangle, with decorative stitching securing their edges. Reversed templates are included for enlargement, and Salmon fabric provides the binding around the completed applique quilt.

Sunrays Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree quilt pattern summary
- Enlarge the reversed templates as directed and check the scale square. Trace the shapes onto fusible web, roughly cut them out, and press them to the wrong sides of the assigned fabrics.
- Cut the fused shapes on the drawn lines. Arrange them on the prepared Bluebird background rectangle, following the layout and leaving the specified allowance at the outer edge.
- Check the complete arrangement and fuse the shapes in place. Secure each raw edge with a decorative stitch, such as buttonhole or satin stitch.
- Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Join the Salmon binding strips with diagonal seams, fold and press the binding, and attach it around the quilt.
