The Bee II Free Quilt Pattern by Josie Kate Snyder quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut the larger squares for the half-square triangles before cutting the smaller squares. Use the remaining larger strips or pieces for smaller cuts where directed in the cutting notes.
  2. Make the half-square triangles by pairing squares, marking a diagonal and sewing on both sides of the line. Cut along the line, press the units open and trim them to size.
  3. Piece the diagonal squares, then assemble the feet, shoulder and antenna units. Check the direction of the strips and make the antenna units as mirror images.
  4. Arrange the fabric squares and pieced units using the assembly diagram. Sew 17 squares into each of 20 rows, alternate the pressing direction between rows, then join the rows.
  5. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Baste and quilt as desired, then finish the edges with binding cut from the Shell Pink fabric.
