The Queen’s China by Bethany Fuller of Grace’s Dowry Quilts frames a large focus print with sixteen pieced and appliqued blocks. Wedgewood fabrics are offered in blue and red selections for the 70 inch square quilt. Quarter-circle shapes are prepared with template plastic and stitched onto light and dark background squares, surrounding the smaller block-center prints. An inner border separates the large center from the blocks, while a wider outer border finishes the composition.

- Cut the large center, inner-border strips, block-center squares and light and dark background squares from the assigned fabrics.
- Trace the quarter-circle shapes, turn their curved edges over the plastic templates with starch, and applique them onto the background squares by hand or machine.
- Piece sixteen blocks with the appliqued units around the small focus squares, then join them into the side, top and bottom rows.
- Attach the inner border to the center, add the block rows, measure for the outer borders and sew them on, then quilt and bind.
