Turtle pillow

Made this cute turtle pillow for my 15-month-old granddaughter. She is starting to pick up a lot of words and one of her current favorite words is turtle. We are not sure where she picked it up or why but I couldn’t resist this turtle laser cut kit. I decided to go with a yellow batik.

Great to inspire a beginner!

The mail system caused this item to arrive too late for me to include as a part of a White Elephant gift for my quilt Bee. So, instead, I gave it to my 26 year old daughter while at my house over the holidays. Although she is a seamstress, she had never dipped into quilting before. It was a great size for her to dip her toes into the quilting water. She got all of the pieces appliqued down in one evening. On her next visit, she will finish the quilting and binding. I think being able to accomplish this very small quilt will cause her to reach for a bigger quilting project next time. The pieces are perfectly cut. You supply your own background fabric. Easy start project.
