Whispering Trails combines framed fabric squares, pieced triangle units, and sashing in a 45 x 59 inch quilt. Designed by Windham Fabrics, the intermediate project features Kassie Kussman’s Copper Sky collection. Triangle units and three-patch strip sets surround the larger squares to make several block combinations. Six block rows alternate with seven sashing rows, and setting triangles finish the edges. The quilt is completed with turquoise binding from the same collection.

Whispering Trails Free Quilt Pattern by Windham Fabrics quilt pattern summary
- Cut the squares, triangles, rectangles, and strips, keeping fabric letters and sizes organized. Sew the small triangle units and strip-piece the three-patch rectangles.
- Combine the triangle units and three-patch pieces, then sew them around the large center squares to make the different block versions. Follow the quantities shown for each version.
- Arrange six block rows and seven sashing rows with the setting triangles and small sashing squares. Join the rows, add the corner triangles, and trim a quarter inch beyond the sashing corners.
- Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Baste, quilt as desired, and bind with the turquoise fabric strips.
