Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner combines Key Lime Pie stars, Garden Patch Variation stars, Turnstile pinwheels, and checkerboard strips in a quilt measuring 45 by 57 inches. Sue Pickering's design features the Bon Appétit collection by Whistler Studios, using fussy-cut chicken squares in the star blocks. The blocks are joined into rows with spacing strips between them. Templates support the angled Garden Patch pieces, and an outer border frames the assembled top.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner Free Quilt Pattern by Sue Pickering quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut and organize the labeled squares, triangles, spacing strips, and borders. Fussy-cut the chicken squares and check the Garden Patch templates before cutting their angled pieces.
  2. Sew and subcut the red and background strip sets to make the checkerboard rows. Piece the Key Lime Pie star segments and four-patches, then join the stars into their row.
  3. Piece the Garden Patch star points with their right and left triangles, then assemble the centers, corner units, and two star rows. Make the Turnstile blocks and join them in alternating colors.
  4. Join the preassembled rows with the spacing strips. Measure and attach the side borders followed by the top and bottom borders, then quilt and bind.
