Successive borders provide the different size options, so you can stop at the indicated stage for the smaller versions or continue through all seven borders for the largest quilt.

- Check the printed foundation size, paper-piece the four center units and join them around the central square with half-square-triangle corners. Add the setting triangles to place the center on point.
- Build the first four borders with flying geese, Sawtooth Stars, strips, pinwheels and four-patch cornerstones in the stated order. Stop after border four if making the 39-inch version.
- For the larger versions, add the fifth border with its pieced squares and Sawtooth Star cornerstones. Stop here for the 52-inch quilt, or continue with borders six and seven for the 70-inch quilt, then quilt and bind.
