Misty Doan hosted Missouri Star Live over the past couple years. The program aired at 11 a.m. Central Time on Tuesdays via Facebook Live and YouTube. Although Missouri Star Live 2022 is only happening periodically, it is for a good reason: Misty has started a new show called At Home With Misty!

The archive of Misty’s Missouri Star Live tutorials is a gold mine of great project ideas. You will be amazed at her creativity! Do you want to sew a fun, flirty, flared apron? If you are feeling the luck of the Irish, you might enjoy sewing a Celtic-inspired table runner of interlocking rings. However, this pattern would be beautiful in solids other than green and even in prints. How about sewing a shower curtain for your home or a young person’s first apartment? Misty joined forces with Natalie to demonstrate how to make a t-shirt quilt. These are excellent gifts for high school grads! Does your best four-footed friend need a fashionable bandana? Misty shows you how to make one that will safely slip over their collar. These are just a few of the many creative projects that Misty demonstrated on Missouri Star Quilt Company Live.

Sometimes Misty introduced viewers to special quilters. During Missouri Star Live 2021, Misty told us about the quilters of Gee’s Bend and showed us how to create a quilt block in the Gee’s Bend style. In another episode Misty quilted alongside Mark, the Quilting Marine. Mark showed us how to do crumb piecing and talked about how quilting has helped him cope with PTSD. Even if you don’t quilt, you will be inspired watching Misty’s episode featuring the Quilting Marine.

On other Missouri Star Live Tuesday episodes Misty took us on a field trip, or showed us how to use a tool, or passed along tips for getting organized. In a Missouri Star Live 2020 episode Misty and Jenny teamed-up to demonstrate how to make an easy zipper pouch. In another, she shared lots of tips for using rotary cutters. During one Live episode, Misty answered questions about sewing needles and pins. (Yes, there is a lot to know about needles and pins!) On other Tuesdays Misty demonstrated fun projects like the Coolest Cooler Bag.
