I love rotating cutting mats! I am not so sure about this one as I find the cutting surface sticky. My fabric lays well but the rotary cutter sticks and does not allow for smooth cuts. I usually have to go over it a couple of times. I changed the blade in the cutte so I don't think that's it. I would not buy this again and not happy I paid what I did even on sale.

I was so excited to receive the rotating cutting mat. The rotation is so smooth! I don't have to manipulate it the way I do my other ones. It's raised a bit like a "lazy susan", so the turn is not choppy or difficult. However, what I've discovered this means is that when I am cutting a block, I have one more thing I need to secure. I have found that if I am not holding the disc still, it will turn when I apply pressure to cut the fabric. Since I scored this while it was on sale, I'll continue...

Confidence booster for quilting

I have been quilting for 1 year and always used precuts. When I started a BOM with a quilting group, I had to cut small pieces. To say I was horrible at cutting would be an understatement! Since getting Hilda, my cuts are so much better. It sure improved my confidence. I was ready to quit the group because my blocks looked so bad, but now I feel more confident in my cutting skills.

Get it. It’s sturdy and rotates like an actual lazy Susan/turntable

I previously bought a rotating mat through Amazon. It’s like a square regular cutting mat and kind of pivots on a rubberized mat below it. I hate it because the center pivot point is rigid and the mat is flexible so the mat does not actually stay flat. This rotating mat is not like that at all. The whole thing is sturdy and the whole of it rotates more like a lazy Susan in your kitchen. I love it. I donated my old one. Do wait for this to go on sale though.
