Cuddle® Kit - Read to Me Barnyard

This kit is so easy, the directions are clear and easy to follow. The minky is so plush and soft. I love the finished blanket and the minky book as well . This was a big hit with my great grandson !

I am basically a sporadic quilter. The feel of all the fabrics is just yummy. The book was my first tackle.. definitely followed Teresa Coates video very very closely. I have a no frills machine and a poor walking foot, but I was pleased with the results. One error in the main quilt directions said to cut only 2 wof 1&3/4 inch pieces for binding. First time working with Cuddle fabric, hard to work with the fabric - and directions were confusing to me. I ended up going to their website to watch a video

I was disappointed to find that the kit included a separate strip of Cuddle fabric for the binding. It made the edge of the quilt very bulky with the seams for the binding so close together. A suggestion for what would work better: if the backing fabric was 2" bigger all around than the top, you could just bring it to the front for a self-binding, maybe an "envelope" type binding. I think that would work much easier with the Cuddle fabric.

I had a lot of fun putting this together. It was a quick and easy gift set for a baby shower.

I have not made it yet but looks simple for me.

Fabric was easy to work with and the project turned out great even for a beginner like me!
