The perfect border!

I made a queen size quilt top out of three Benitec Winter Jewels jelly rolls using a modified version of the Villa Rosa Bear Hugs pattern. I replaced the center two strips in a third of my blocks with a pair of four patches and with flying geese in another third. I miscalculated the fabric requirements and was working in a gradient so I the blocks made before reaching the dark blues, which was not acceptable. So I added another strip to a smaller quantity of blocks until I used up all 3 jelly rolls. I got a second throw size top out of the remaining blocks. The Kaffe yardage was the perfect complement to the Winter Jewels. The colors are so me. I love it!
