Mellow Yellow Favorites 10" Squares

I wasn’t sure how I’d like this because yellow is not my favourite color. I love how my quilt turned out. The colors blend perfectly. I bought the layer cake on a really good sale.

My 85year old mom found a piece of gray and soft yellow fabric in my stash. She picked it up and said, “Now I really like this fabric.” Hence my search for the perfect layer cake. This is it. I’ll come back someday and show you the results. She doesn’t like quilts with lots of piecing, so I think I’ll just keep them whole with small sashing strips and a simple border. So excited to make this for her.

Can't wait to use these 10" squares. They are so beautiful, bright and cherry. I may do my quilting using stitch in the ditch. I have done this on other quilts and it looks nice. I have yellow print for backing of quilt.

Gave this to my youngest sister for Christmas. She has a granddaughter who loves sunflowers. Hoping it will inspire my sister to make a quilt for her granddaughter.

These 10" squares will be the basis for a modern project along with coordinating yardage.

Beautiful colors I love black and yellow. Now that I’ve played with it I’m not sure I want to cut it up.
