I read the reviews before I bought this; one reviewer mentioned how nice & soft it is. The piece I received was as stiff as taffeta!! I called customer service; she explained that this fabric has a "permanent press" finish. She said it should soften in the wash. My gut told me to return it, but I was in a hurry to finish a quilt so I washed it in hopes that would work. It's still nearly as stiff as it was when it arrived, and now it has deep wrinkles which I couldn't fully remove even with a hot steam iron! This is "permanent press" ??? I've bought a LOT of fabric over the years from MSQ and have always been happy with it, but this is a deep disappointment! All I want is the same kind of soft, lightweight muslin that used to be readily available at JoAnn, and I can't find that anywhere anymore. I really wish MSQ would stock that kind of muslin! This is too stiff to be comfortable as a quilt backing, so I'll donate it to a local school's costume department.
