Stars & Stripes Favorites 5" Squares

I recently gifted my daughter-in-law with this quilt for her support of our son's 28+ Army career upon his retirement. I augmented this charm pack with some squares from my stash to make this beautiful and inspiring disappearing 9-patch pattern. After it was in the mail to her, I found out she is about to embark on a 2-year journey of surgeries to relieve degenerative disc disease symptoms and pain. The quilt arrives at the perfect time and will bring her comfort during her recovery.

The stars and stripes remind us of the respect for our flag and country. Many times I have stood for revelle, knowing I had a part in keeping this country free.

I bought 2 of the 5 inch squares to use in a patriotic quilt I am also using a pattern from Missouri Star that calls for two 5 inch square packets. I am in the middle of making pieces but so far everything is going well. Can hardly wait to start putting the rows together

I love this fabric. The charm pack was a daily special and I bought 2. I also have either black or white for sashing. Might just donate to “Quilts of Valor”.

The fabric has very nice patterns to use for a QOV.

Our quilt group makes quilts for local veterans so I purchased these and some additional patriotic fabric to donate to the Piecemakers Quilt Group.
